＜徒然文＞
2007年に大ヒットしたミュージカル映画、ヘアースプレーの曲です。
最初から最後までアップテンポの曲が多く、何回見てもハッピーになれる映画です。
でもこの曲の歌詞は戦後のアメリカの時代が変わっていく様子を上手くまとめていると思います。
今と比べ昔は黒人の地位も、女性の地位もずっと低かった。
曲が始まり、1つサビが進むごとに時代が新しくなっていっていることを歌詞で表現していますね。
最初は女性と男性別々でしたが、最後にはずっと一緒に踊っていると表現しています。
今回はそれを上手く表現できたらいいなあと思いながら訳してみました。
せっかくなので他のバージョンも紹介していきますね。
イギリスでのライブ。どの人もホントパワフルな歌声ですごい！
こちらは大好きな海外ドラマGLEEバージョン。
こっちは最初の冒頭がバラードでまた違っていいですよ＾＾
レイチェルの声にぴったりの曲ですね！
とってもハッピーな曲ということもあって、
最近日本ではこんな風に披露宴の余興としてやるのも人気があるようです。
突然曲が始まって、スタッフさん、友人、最後には新郎新婦まで踊りだすフラッシュモブとっても素敵ですね！
